Savage trailers at a glance
Remorques Savage has built all-aluminum trailers in Québec since 1999 and sells them through a retailer network in Québec and elsewhere in Canada. The brand also builds custom trailers.
The Thor is its hydraulic dump trailer, from 7,000 to 14,000 lb, and the Thor XL has high sides. The Walkyrie is a light utility trailer from 2,000 to 2,860 lb, the Walkyrie HD goes from 7,000 to 14,000 lb and the Walkyrie AT is all-terrain. The Baldur flatbeds, in CH, DO, EQ, BT and FT versions, go up to 14,000 lb. Savage warrants the structure for 10 years and the VoltFlex wiring for 5 years.
Aluminum or galvanized steel dump trailer?
An aluminum dump trailer, like the Thor, is light and does not rust: at equal gross weight, it leaves more room for the load. Savage estimates about 800 lb of weight savings on a standard 8 × 5 ft trailer. Steel, for its part, takes shovel hits, rocks and broken concrete better, and generally costs less to buy.
The N&N Torrent counts on steel, galvanized against salt: an 11-gauge box on a 4 × 6 × 5/16 in tube frame, from 7 × 12 to 7 × 16 ft. The telescopic cylinder is 12 tons on the 14 and 16 ft, the double-action rear gate opens as a barn door or a spreader and the roll tarp has a diamond plate aluminum guard.
Wiring and axles
Savage and N&N both use VoltFlex wiring, a flexible low-temperature harness, which Savage warrants for 5 years. On our Torrent dump trailers, it powers full LED lighting, and an N&N 15 A smart charger keeps the pump battery ready.
The Torrent’s axles are galvanized, with electric brakes, from 7,000 to 10,000 lb depending on the model, on galvanized rims. At Savage, the Dexter axles on the 9,900 and 14,000 lb models are warranted for 5 years, and the Frameco axles on models of 7,000 lb and under, for 1 year. Our workshop services the axles, brakes and wiring of your dump trailer, aluminum or steel.
Walkyrie or Laroche, Baldur or N&N
Against the Walkyrie utility trailer, we offer the Laroche, galvanized and built in Québec: the 4 × 8 ft on a 3,500 lb axle, the 4.5 × 8 ft, and the 66 in × 10 ft on two 2,000 lb axles, all with a rear ramp and a triple tongue. Their railed sides and plywood or treated plank floors hold the load.
Against the Baldur flatbeds, our N&N flatbeds run from 7 × 16 to 7 × 22 ft, with a hemlock floor, stake pockets and slide-in or stand-up ramps. To load without ramps, the 18 and 20 ft Lowland has a 21 in deck, and the 24 ft Deck Over Tilt a 102 in full-width deck. For heavy equipment, the C8 Iron rides on three 7,000 lb axles.
A trailer towed by the ATV
Savage builds the Walkyrie AT, an all-terrain utility trailer. If the trailer has to follow an ATV on the trail, at the cottage or in the woodlot, it has to be small, low and able to dump its load without a shovel.
We order the Weberlane trailers made for that: the single-axle ATV340 and ATV350, and the tandem-axle ATV360T, steadier with heavy loads. Their 20 in deep sheet steel box dumps by gravity to empty firewood, soil or rocks, and their capacity ranges from 1,200 to 1,500 lb. They hitch to a 2 in ball. For the road, behind a vehicle, the Laroche utility trailer remains the right choice.

Does Martin Remorques sell Savage trailers?
No, we are not a Savage dealer. We sell N&N dump and flatbed trailers and Laroche utility trailers, in galvanized steel and built in Québec.
Does a galvanized steel dump trailer rust?
The zinc from galvanizing protects the steel from salt and moisture, even where it is scratched. Over time, the inside of the box wears under rocks and shovels, but the structure stays protected. A rinse in spring helps the trailer last.
Aluminum or steel: which costs less?
At equal size and capacity, a steel trailer generally costs less to buy than an aluminum one. Aluminum weighs less and does not rust; galvanized steel stands up well to salt and takes hits better. Compare the two with the same equipment.
What capacity should a dump trailer have?
Add up the weight of the heaviest load you will carry often, then keep a margin. Our Torrents range from two 7,000 lb axles to two 10,000 lb axles, or three 7,000 lb. We also check your vehicle’s capacity with you.
Can you service my Savage trailer?
Yes. Our workshop handles general maintenance, repairs and equipment installation on trailers of any make. Call us with the make, year and the work needed. Our parts counter also finds lighting, hitches, wheels and tires.
