The information we collect
We only collect what you give us when you send a request through the website:
- your contact details: name, phone number and email address;
- your request: subject, message, the trailer you are interested in, and the preferred date and time for a visit or a service appointment;
- for a quote: the trailer type and size, what you will haul and the vehicle that will tow it;
- for a part: the part or part number, the quantity, and the make, model and year of your trailer;
- for financing: the trailer, the amount to finance and the down payment you have in mind;
- for the newsletter, if you sign up: your first name, email address and consent.
The website never asks for your social insurance number, income or banking information. The credit application is prepared with our team, then processed by the financial institution. The website is intended for adults: we do not knowingly collect information about children under 14.
Why we use it
- to answer your request by phone or email;
- to prepare a quote, a visit, a service appointment or a parts order;
- to prepare a financing application with you;
- to send you the newsletter if you asked for it; every issue lets you unsubscribe.
We do not use your information for any other purpose without your consent, and we never sell it.
Who may receive it
Only the members of our team who handle your request see it.
If you ask us to prepare financing, we send the information needed for the application, with your consent, to National Bank of Canada or Crédit-Bail CLÉ. The institution then handles it under its own privacy policy.
Our technology providers, such as the website host and the service that forwards your requests to us by email, process this information on our behalf only. Some may store it outside Quebec; we ask them to protect it with the same care we do. The host also records technical data, such as IP address and browser, to keep the website secure.
Cookies and choices kept in your browser
The website uses no audience measurement tool and no targeted advertising. It only keeps a few choices in your browser, without sending them to anyone:
- your cookie choice;
- whether you closed the newsletter invitation or a promotion, so it is not shown again;
- the trailers you picked in the comparison tool, for your visit only.
You can change your choice at any time with the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page.
The videos on the Advice page come from YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode: nothing loads from YouTube until you start a video. Links to Google Maps and to our Google Business Profile open Google’s websites, which have their own policy.
How long we keep it
We keep the information in a request for as long as we need to handle it and follow up on the sale, service, part or financing. We then destroy it securely, unless a law requires us to keep it longer, for example for our sales records.
How we protect it
The website is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and only the team members who need your requests can access them. If a confidentiality incident presents a risk of serious injury, we notify the people concerned and the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.
Your rights
At any time, you can:
- find out what information we hold about you and get a copy, including in a structured, commonly used technological format;
- have it corrected if it is inaccurate, incomplete or equivocal;
- withdraw your consent, for example by unsubscribing from the newsletter;
- ask us to stop disseminating information or to de-index a link about you, in the cases provided by law.
Write to confidentialite@martinremorques.com: we answer within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.
