RSL trailer: our trailers for the same job
Martin Remorques does not sell RSL. For the same need, here are the brands sold at Martin Remorques:
If an RSL trailer is what you are looking at, compare it with what we sell in Saint-Ambroise-de-Kildare: N&N flatbed, tilt and dump trailers, galvanized Laroche utility trailers and Ideal Cargo enclosed trailers, all built in Québec. For machinery, here is how to choose between a flatbed and a tilt trailer, and the right capacity.

Flatbed or tilt trailer?
A fixed flatbed loads by ramps at the back. It is simple and sturdy, and the deck stays at the same height for pallets and materials. A tilt trailer tips the whole deck to the ground: the machine loads without ramps, at a gentler angle.
Our N&N flatbeds run from 7 × 16 to 7 × 22 ft, with slide-in ramps or spring-assisted stand-up ramps. Our tilt trailers are the 18 and 20 ft Lowland, with a low 21 in deck, and the 24 ft Deck Over Tilt, with a 102 in full-width deck. On order, Weberlane Tilt-N-Load trailers run from 3.5 to 10 tons.
Choosing the right capacity
Add up the weight of the machine, its attachments and fuel, then compare with the trailer’s capacity and your vehicle’s. A margin is always safer than a trailer loaded to the limit on every trip, and it spares the tires, axles and brakes.
At Martin Remorques, axles range from two 5,200 lb on the 7 × 16 ft flatbed to two 8,000 lb on the HD 7 × 22 ft, or three 7,000 lb on the C8 Iron 7 × 22 ft. The Deck Over Tilt carries 8,550 lb. Our advisors check the math with you before you buy.
Low deck or full-width deck
Deck height decides the loading angle. Our 7 × 16 ft flatbed has a 24 in deck, the HD 7 × 22 ft and the C8 Iron 27 in, the Lowland only 21 in and the Deck Over Tilt 36 in. The lower the deck, the gentler the angle for a low machine or a car.
Width matters just as much. Between the fenders, our 7 ft flatbeds and the Lowland give 82 in; the Deck Over Tilt, with its deck over the wheels, gives a full 102 in. Measure the machine’s width, tracks or tires included, before choosing.
Ramps and tie-downs
The 14 × 60 in slide-in ramps on the 7 × 16 ft flatbed slide under the deck. The 24 × 60 in stand-up ramps on the HD and the C8 Iron are spring-assisted with an adjustable support leg: they lift with little effort and stay steady under a heavy machine. The 7 × 20 ft has 48 in split mesh ramps.
To tie down the load, our flatbeds have welded 5/8 in D-rings and stake pockets with a tie-down rail along the sides. The Deck Over Tilt adds a winch rail, a welded winch plate and four D-rings for the pockets, and the Lowland a winch plate. Our parts counter finds the right winch.
Loading a machine: the right balance
A well-placed machine makes towing stable. As a rule, about 60% of the weight goes ahead of the trailer’s axles: enough to keep weight on the hitch, without overloading the back of the vehicle. Too much weight at the back makes the trailer sway; too much at the front squats the vehicle’s suspension.
Tie the machine down at all four corners with chains or straps rated for its weight, with the bucket or attachment lowered and tied down too. On a tilt trailer, make sure the deck is fully down and resting before you leave. Our flatbeds have welded D-rings and stake pockets with a tie-down rail to spread the tie-downs.
Buying your trailer at Martin Remorques
At our lot in Saint-Ambroise-de-Kildare, in Lanaudière, you see our N&N flatbeds, the Lowland and the Deck Over Tilt side by side, ramps down and deck tilted. If you are looking at an RSL trailer, note its length, capacity and deck height: we will show you the one that does the same job.
To buy, we work with National Bank of Canada for bank financing and, for businesses, with Crédit-Bail CLÉ for commercial leasing, and we prepare the application with you. After the sale, our workshop handles maintenance, repairs and equipment installation, and our parts counter finds the lighting, hitch, wheels, tires and winch your trailer needs.
Does Martin Remorques sell RSL trailers?
No, we are not a RSL dealer. We sell N&N flatbed, tilt and dump trailers and Laroche utility trailers, built in Québec. Come see them in Saint-Ambroise-de-Kildare.
What is the difference between a flatbed and a tilt trailer?
A flatbed loads by ramps; a tilt trailer tips its whole deck to the ground so the machine loads without ramps. The tilt loads a low or heavy machine more easily; the fixed flatbed generally costs less and suits pallets and materials.
Can a tilt trailer carry a car?
Yes, it is one of its uses: the N&N Lowland, with its 21 in deck and 82 in between the fenders, loads cars and low equipment without ramps. We also order Weberlane Tilt-N-Load trailers, built for vehicles as well as equipment.
How high are your flatbed decks?
24 in for the 7 × 16 and the 7 × 20 ft flatbeds, 27 in for the HD 7 × 22 ft and the C8 Iron, 21 in for the Lowland and 36 in for the Deck Over Tilt, whose deck runs over the wheels.
Can you service my RSL trailer?
Yes. Our workshop handles general maintenance, repairs and equipment installation on trailers of any make. Call us with the make, year and the work needed. Our parts counter also finds lighting, hitches, wheels and tires.
Can I finance a trailer at Martin Remorques?
Yes. We work with National Bank of Canada for bank financing and, for businesses, with Crédit-Bail CLÉ for commercial leasing. We prepare the application with you; the institution approves it and sets the rate.
