Mission Trailers or Ideal Cargo trailer?
Martin Remorques does not sell Mission Trailers. For the same need, here are the brands sold at Martin Remorques:
Mission Trailers builds all-aluminum enclosed cargo trailers, from 4 × 6 to 8.5 × 20 ft, for the American manufacturer ALCOM. For the same use, Martin Remorques sells the Ideal Cargo, an enclosed trailer built in Québec: a galvanized steel structure with a lifetime corrosion warranty, aluminum-skinned composite walls and R5 insulation. Compare them in Saint-Ambroise-de-Kildare, in Lanaudière.

Who builds Mission Trailers?
Mission Trailers is a brand of ALCOM, an aluminum trailer manufacturer based in Winslow, Maine, which also builds the E-Z Hauler, CargoPro and Stealth brands. Mission describes its trailers as all aluminum and made in the USA.
Its enclosed cargo trailer comes in sizes from 4 × 6 to 8.5 × 20 ft. It has a 2 × 3 in aluminum tube subframe, wall and roof studs every 16 in, floor crossmembers every 24 in, smooth bonded 0.030 in exterior panels, a one-piece aluminum roof and a V-nose. It rides on Dexter torsion axles and carries a limited lifetime warranty.
Aluminum or galvanized steel: two ways to build
Mission relies on aluminum, which is light and does not rust. Ideal Cargo keeps steel for the structure, but galvanized: the zinc protects the metal from road salt, and the maker warrants the structure for life against corrosion and for 10 years against breakage. The walls are recycled composite covered in aluminum, which makes the trailer about 10% lighter than a conventional enclosed trailer, according to Ideal Cargo.
The difference shows inside too. At Mission, the standard walls are 3/8 in water-resistant panels. Every Ideal Cargo we sell is R5 insulated, with a white finish that brightens the space: the inside holds a steadier temperature and your gear is better protected from condensation through the winter.
Interior height: 76 or 80 in
In the 7 ft width, the standard Mission trailer has a 78 in tall box, or 76 in inside, which can be raised by 3, 6 or 9 in as an option. Our 7 ft wide Ideal Cargo Work Zone trailers already have the extra 6 in of height: 80 in inside, enough to walk upright and run shelving to the ceiling.
For even more room, the 8.5 × 16 ft Work Zone All Black edition offers 86 in of interior height, with 5,200 lb torsion axles, aluminum wheels and two three-way 12 V switches. The 7 × 12 ft Sport Zone has 80 in inside and a 74 in tall ramp door, handy for rolling in an ATV or a snowmobile.
Towing weight and brakes
Mission publishes the weight of each size: the 7 × 14 ft weighs 1,750 lb empty, for a 7,000 lb gross vehicle weight rating on two 3,500 lb braked axles. That figure, plus the weight of the load, is what you compare with your vehicle’s towing capacity, whatever the brand.
Our 7 × 14 ft Ideal Cargo trailers ride on two 3,500 lb or 5,200 lb axles depending on the model. In Québec, a trailer needs brakes once its loaded mass exceeds 1,300 kg or half the mass of the towing vehicle: a tandem enclosed trailer full of tools gets there quickly. We check the trailer weight, the planned load and your vehicle’s capacity with you.
What comes standard and what you add
At Mission, several items are options: extra height, the spring-assisted ramp door instead of the barn door, the side door on the smallest sizes, recessed D-rings, recessed LED puck lights, aluminum wheels and a dozen colors. The price of a base trailer does not tell the whole story.
Our Ideal Cargo Work Zone trailers come already equipped: a side door with a flush lock, R5 insulation, a white interior finish, an LED dome light, a built-in EVO 3.0 loading light, gutters over every door, side vents, a rear spoiler with LED lights and a 7,000 lb jack. Depending on the model, you also get a keyed compression lock, two 12 V switches, a 36 in stone guard or the contractor package. Compare two trailers with the same equipment.
Buying your enclosed trailer at Martin Remorques
An enclosed trailer is best compared in person. At our lot in Saint-Ambroise-de-Kildare, in Lanaudière, you open the doors of a Work Zone, measure the inside and see the galvanized frame and the insulation up close. If you are weighing a Mission, note its size and height: we will show you the closest Ideal Cargo.
To buy, we work with National Bank of Canada for bank financing and, for businesses, with Crédit-Bail CLÉ for commercial leasing, and we prepare the application with you. After the sale, our workshop handles maintenance, repairs and equipment installation, and our parts counter finds the lighting, hitch, wheels and tires your trailer needs.
Does Martin Remorques sell Mission Trailers trailers?
No, we are not a Mission Trailers dealer. For an enclosed trailer, we sell Ideal Cargo Work Zone and Sport Zone trailers, built in Québec. We also order Weberlane enclosed trailers, built in Ontario.
Mission or Ideal Cargo: which one is lighter?
At equal size, an all-aluminum trailer like the Mission generally weighs less than a steel-structure trailer. Ideal Cargo narrows the gap with aluminum-skinned composite walls: the maker says its trailer is about 10% lighter than a conventional one. We compare the trailer weight with your vehicle’s capacity with you.
Is an Ideal Cargo trailer insulated?
Yes. Every Ideal Cargo we sell is R5 insulated, with a white interior finish, an LED dome light and a loading light. The insulation keeps the inside drier and at a steadier temperature, whether you store tools, merchandise or recreational gear.
Are Mission and CargoPro trailers the same?
Both are ALCOM brands, and their published specifications for the enclosed cargo trailer are the same: sizes from 4 × 6 to 8.5 × 20 ft, all-aluminum construction and a limited lifetime warranty. At Martin Remorques, the enclosed trailer that does the same job is the Ideal Cargo, built in Québec.
Can you service my Mission Trailers trailer?
Yes. Our workshop handles general maintenance, repairs and equipment installation on trailers of any make. Call us with the make, year and the work needed. Our parts counter also finds lighting, hitches, wheels and tires.
Can I finance an enclosed trailer at Martin Remorques?
Yes. We work with National Bank of Canada for bank financing and, for businesses, with Crédit-Bail CLÉ for commercial leasing. We prepare the application with you; the institution approves it and sets the rate.
