Ethier or N&N trailer?
Martin Remorques does not sell Ethier. For the same need, here are the brands sold at Martin Remorques:
Ethier trailers are built by Les Attaches Éthier in Saint-Jérôme, a brand known since 1963: flatbeds, including 20 and 22 ft tilt trailers and goosenecks, utility and dump trailers. For the same uses, Martin Remorques sells N&N flatbed, tilt and dump trailers and Laroche utility trailers, built in Québec.

Ethier trailers at a glance
Les Attaches Éthier builds trailers in Saint-Jérôme, in the Laurentians, under the Ethier brand, known since 1963. They show up in ads across Québec, new and used, and a used Ethier is often compared with a new N&N.
The range includes several flatbeds, including 20 and 22 ft tilt trailers and gooseneck flatbeds, utility trailers and dump trailers, such as a 7 × 12 ft. If you are looking at one, note its length, capacity and loading type: ramps, tilt or gooseneck. Those three points decide which N&N or Weberlane trailer does the same job.
Ethier or N&N tilt trailer?
Ethier builds 20 and 22 ft tilt trailers. At our shop, the N&N Lowland comes in 18 and 20 ft: a low 21 in deck, 82 in between the fenders, a 6 in C-channel frame and two galvanized axles with a 4 in drop and electric brakes. Its 14,000 lb cylinder lifts the deck, which lowers by gravity, and its hydraulic pump sits in an aluminum box.
For a wider or heavier machine, the 24 ft Deck Over Tilt has a 102 in full-width deck, an 8 in H frame and an 8,550 lb capacity. We also order Weberlane Tilt-N-Load tilt trailers, from 3.5 to 10 tons, available in 27 and 29 ft with three axles.
A fixed flatbed for machinery
For a machine that loads by ramps, our N&N flatbeds run from 7 × 16 to 7 × 22 ft. The HD 7 × 22 ft has an 8 in C-channel frame, two 8,000 lb axles on 17.5 in tires and 24 × 60 in spring-assisted stand-up ramps; the C8 Iron, the same size, rides on three 7,000 lb axles.
The 7 × 16 ft, with 14 ft straight and a 2 ft dovetail, has a 5 in C-channel frame, two 5,200 lb axles and 14 × 60 in slide-in ramps: it is the flatbed for small machines and materials. All have a 2 × 8 in hemlock floor, welded D-rings and galvanized axles with electric brakes. For goosenecks, we order Weberlane equipment trailers.
The 7 × 12 dump trailer and the utility trailer
Ethier builds a 7 × 12 ft dump trailer. At our shop, that size comes in two versions. The N&N Torrent 7 × 12 ft has an 11-gauge galvanized box with 23 in sides, a 7-ton telescopic cylinder and two 7,500 lb axles; the lighter Storm 7 × 12 ft has 18 in sides, two 5,200 lb axles and a 54 Ah Endurance lithium battery.
For a 4 × 8 ft utility trailer, we sell the galvanized Laroche, with a 3,500 lb axle, 14 in wheels, a rear ramp and a triple tongue, also available in 4.5 × 8 ft and 66 in × 10 ft. It serves the yard, the cottage and small jobs, with no paint to touch up.
A used flatbed: what to check
Many Ethier trailers show up in used ads. On a used flatbed, look at the floor boards first: rotten or split, they can be replaced, but they tell you how the trailer was stored. Then check the crossmembers, frame and welds, especially around the axles and tongue.
On a tilt trailer, raise and lower the deck and look for oil leaks around the cylinder. Check the ramps, tires, bearings, brakes and lights. A new N&N starts from scratch: a new hemlock floor, galvanized axles and rims, VoltFlex wiring. And if you keep your Ethier, our workshop handles maintenance and repairs.
Buying your trailer at Martin Remorques
At our lot in Saint-Ambroise-de-Kildare, in Lanaudière, you see a Lowland tilt, an HD flatbed’s ramps and a Torrent’s box. If you are looking at an Ethier, new or used, note its length and capacity: we will show you the N&N that does the same job.
To buy, we work with National Bank of Canada for bank financing and, for businesses, with Crédit-Bail CLÉ for commercial leasing, and we prepare the application with you. After the sale, our workshop handles maintenance, repairs and equipment installation, and our parts counter finds the lighting, hitch, wheels, tires and winch your trailer needs.
Does Martin Remorques sell Ethier trailers?
No, we are not a Ethier dealer. We sell N&N dump, flatbed and tilt trailers and Laroche utility trailers, built in Québec. For goosenecks, we order Weberlane trailers.
Which N&N tilt trailer should I choose?
The 18 or 20 ft Lowland, with its low 21 in deck, suits cars and low equipment. The 24 ft Deck Over Tilt, with its 102 in full-width deck and 8,550 lb capacity, suits wider or heavier machines.
What is the difference between the Torrent and the Storm 7 × 12?
The Torrent has 23 in sides, a 4 × 6 in tube frame and two 7,500 lb axles: it is the job-site dump trailer. The Storm has 18 in sides, a 2 × 5 in tube frame and two 5,200 lb axles: lighter and less expensive, for more modest loads.
Do you have gooseneck flatbeds?
Yes, on order: Weberlane standard or heavy equipment trailers come with a gooseneck hitch, three axles and a 10 ft hydraulic beavertail. A gooseneck trailer needs a pickup with a ball in the bed.
Can you service my Ethier trailer?
Yes. Our workshop handles general maintenance, repairs and equipment installation on trailers of any make. Call us with the make, year and the work needed. Our parts counter also finds lighting, hitches, wheels and tires.
Can I finance a trailer at Martin Remorques?
Yes. We work with National Bank of Canada for bank financing and, for businesses, with Crédit-Bail CLÉ for commercial leasing. We prepare the application with you; the institution approves it and sets the rate.
