E-Z Hauler or Ideal Cargo trailer?
Martin Remorques does not sell E-Z Hauler. For the same need, here are the brands sold at Martin Remorques:
E-Z Hauler builds all-aluminum cargo and contractor trailers, sorted by width from 5 to 8.5 ft, with an XLT Pro series. For the same use, Martin Remorques sells Ideal Cargo enclosed trailers, built in Québec, in 5, 6, 7, 7.5 and 8.5 ft widths: a galvanized steel structure with a lifetime corrosion warranty and R5 insulation on all of them.

E-Z Hauler trailers at a glance
E-Z Hauler is a brand of ALCOM, the Winslow, Maine aluminum trailer manufacturer that also builds Mission, CargoPro and Stealth. The brand presents itself as a specialist in all-aluminum cargo and contractor trailers.
Its enclosed range is sorted by width: 5 and 6 ft, 7 ft, 7.4 ft and 8.5 ft. The XLT Pro series comes in 6 and 7 ft widths. If you saw an E-Z Hauler in an ad, its width is the first thing to note: it decides what fits in the trailer and how much room is left to move around.
Choosing the width: 5, 6, 7, 7.5 or 8.5 ft
At Martin Remorques, the 5 × 8 ft Work Zone is the small enclosed trailer for homeowners and shops: 68 in of interior height, double rear doors and a side door, on a 3,500 lb drop axle. The 6 × 12 ft Sport Zone adds a 2,000 lb ramp door for an ATV or a snowmobile.
The 7 ft width, from 12 to 16 ft long, is the all-round size for contractors and recreational vehicles. The 7.5 ft width, in 14 or 16 ft, gives a little more room between shelves, on 5,200 lb drop axles. The 8.5 × 16 ft offers the most space, with 80 or 86 in of interior height depending on the model.
The contractor trailer: the Work Zone
E-Z Hauler presents itself as a contractor trailer brand. At our shop, the enclosed work trailer is the Ideal Cargo Work Zone: full-width double rear doors, a side door with a flush lock, gutters over every door and side vents for airflow.
Several Work Zone trailers have a keyed compression lock and two three-way 12 V switches for the lighting. The 7 × 14 ft with the contractor package comes with a ladder, ladder racks and a catwalk, and the 7.5 × 16 ft has a 36 in front stone guard. Our workshop then installs the equipment your trade needs.
Aluminum or galvanized steel, come winter
E-Z Hauler builds everything in aluminum, a light metal that does not rust. Ideal Cargo combines a galvanized steel structure, warranted for life against corrosion and for 10 years against breakage, with recycled composite walls covered in aluminum. The maker says its trailer is about 10% lighter than a conventional enclosed trailer.
On our salted roads, galvanizing protects the steel with no paint to touch up. The R5 insulation in every Ideal Cargo keeps the inside steadier in the cold, and the white interior, with the LED dome light and the built-in EVO 3.0 loading light, lights up the work early in the morning and late in the day.
Reading an enclosed trailer’s numbers
An enclosed trailer ad often gives three weights. Curb weight is what the trailer weighs on its own. The gross vehicle weight rating, or GVWR, is the maximum allowed, trailer and load included. The difference between the two is the payload: what you can really put inside. A 7 × 14 ft aluminum enclosed trailer weighing 1,750 lb empty with a 7,000 lb GVWR therefore carries 5,250 lb.
Dimensions also read two ways: the box size, outside, and the interior space, smaller by the thickness of the walls. A 7 ft wide Mission, another ALCOM brand, gives 81 in between the walls and 76 in of interior height. To compare with an Ideal Cargo, line up the same figures: we give you those of every trailer we sell.
Buying your enclosed trailer at Martin Remorques
At our lot in Saint-Ambroise-de-Kildare, in Lanaudière, our Ideal Cargo trailers in different widths stand side by side: you see right away what 6 in or 1 ft more brings. If you are comparing with an E-Z Hauler, note its width, length and height: we will show you the matching Ideal Cargo.
To buy, we work with National Bank of Canada for bank financing and, for businesses, with Crédit-Bail CLÉ for commercial leasing, and we prepare the application with you. After the sale, our workshop handles maintenance, repairs and equipment installation, and our parts counter finds the lighting, hitch, wheels and tires your trailer needs.
Does Martin Remorques sell E-Z Hauler trailers?
No, we are not a E-Z Hauler dealer. For an enclosed trailer, we sell Ideal Cargo Work Zone and Sport Zone trailers, built in Québec. We have them in 5, 6, 7, 7.5 and 8.5 ft widths.
Which Ideal Cargo replaces a 7 ft wide E-Z Hauler?
A 7 ft wide Ideal Cargo Work Zone, 12, 14 or 16 ft long, with 80 in of interior height. If you haul an ATV or a snowmobile, the 7 × 12 ft Sport Zone has a 2,000 lb ramp door and four 5,000 lb floor anchors.
Do you have an 8.5 ft wide enclosed trailer?
Yes, the 8.5 × 16 ft Ideal Cargo Work Zone, with 80 in of interior height or 86 in on the raised editions, double rear doors, a side door and R5 insulation. It is the size for contractors who haul a lot of material or wide pieces.
Are E-Z Hauler and Mission the same manufacturer?
Yes: E-Z Hauler, Mission, CargoPro and Stealth are brands of ALCOM, an aluminum trailer manufacturer in Winslow, Maine. At Martin Remorques, the enclosed trailer that does the same job is the Ideal Cargo, built in Québec on a galvanized steel structure.
Can you service my E-Z Hauler trailer?
Yes. Our workshop handles general maintenance, repairs and equipment installation on trailers of any make. Call us with the make, year and the work needed. Our parts counter also finds lighting, hitches, wheels and tires.
Can I finance an enclosed trailer at Martin Remorques?
Yes. We work with National Bank of Canada for bank financing and, for businesses, with Crédit-Bail CLÉ for commercial leasing. We prepare the application with you; the institution approves it and sets the rate.
