Martin Remorques does not sell DKZ. For the same need, here are the brands sold at Martin Remorques:
If you are looking for a DKZ trailer, you may be thinking of the DK2 utility trailers sold in hardware stores, like the folding 4 × 8 ft. For the same use, Martin Remorques sells galvanized Laroche utility trailers, built in Québec, and, for bigger jobs, N&N dump and flatbed trailers. Come compare them in Saint-Ambroise-de-Kildare, in Lanaudière.

Folding DK2 trailer or Laroche utility trailer?
The DK2 4 × 8 ft utility trailer, also offered in a galvanized version, folds to take up less room in the garage. It rides on 12 in tires, hitches to a 2 in ball and carries about 1,450 lb of payload, according to the stores that sell it.
The Laroche 4 × 8 ft is a fixed, galvanized utility trailer on a 3,500 lb axle and 14 in wheels. It has 13 in sides with a top rail, a 5/8 in plywood floor, a rear ramp and a triple tongue. It comes assembled, ready to hitch, and galvanizing protects it from salt winter after winter.
Folding or fixed trailer
A folding trailer has one advantage: it takes up little room once folded. In return, it carries less, rides on smaller wheels, and you have to unfold and lock it before every trip. It suits occasional use, when storage space is short.
A fixed utility trailer like the Laroche is ready to go: hitch, load and drive. Its 13 or 14 in wheels, triple tongue and railed sides suit renovation materials, firewood, branches and trips to the recycling depot. The 4.5 × 8 ft gives 6 in more width, and the 66 in × 10 ft moves up to two 2,000 lb axles.
Dump trailer or flatbed?
A dump trailer has a box that lifts to empty the load: soil, gravel, mulch, demolition debris. A flatbed is a flat deck that carries a machine, materials or pallets, loaded by ramps or with a forklift.
At Martin Remorques, N&N Torrent, Torrent HD and Storm dump trailers run from 6 × 12 to 7 × 16 ft, with an 11-gauge steel box and a double-action rear gate that dumps all at once or spreads the load. Our N&N flatbeds run from 7 × 16 to 7 × 22 ft, and the Lowland and Deck Over Tilt tilt trailers load a machine without ramps.
Utility or enclosed trailer?
For the yard, the cottage and small jobs, the Laroche utility trailer is light and easy to hitch. If the gear has to stay dry and locked, an enclosed trailer does the job better, especially for tools left in the driveway.
Our Ideal Cargo enclosed trailers have a galvanized steel structure with a lifetime corrosion warranty, R5 insulation, a side door and, depending on the model, double rear doors or a 2,000 lb ramp door. The smallest, the 5 × 8 ft Work Zone, has 68 in of interior height and a compression lock, and fits in a garage.
Which utility trailer size?
The 4 × 8 ft is the size for the yard and small jobs: bags of soil, branches, renovation materials, a trip to the recycling depot. It stores easily and tows behind a car or SUV with a hitch.
The 4.5 × 8 ft gives 6 in more width, useful for a piece of furniture or an appliance. The 66 in × 10 ft is the big one: two 2,000 lb axles, a treated plank floor, four floor rings and a rear ramp that loads a riding mower or an ATV. Choose for the biggest item you carry often, and we check your vehicle’s capacity with you.
Buying your trailer at Martin Remorques
At our lot in Saint-Ambroise-de-Kildare, in Lanaudière, our Laroche utility trailers are assembled and ready to hitch, next to our N&N dump trailers and flatbeds. If you were looking at a DK2 or another small trailer, note its size and capacity: we will show you the utility trailer that does the same job.
To buy, we work with National Bank of Canada for bank financing and, for businesses, with Crédit-Bail CLÉ for commercial leasing, and we prepare the application with you. After the sale, our workshop handles maintenance, repairs and equipment installation, and our parts counter finds the lighting, hitch, wheels, tires and winch your trailer needs.
Does Martin Remorques sell DKZ trailers?
No, we are not a DKZ dealer. We sell galvanized Laroche utility trailers, N&N dump trailers and flatbeds and Ideal Cargo enclosed trailers, built in Québec.
What is the difference between a folding trailer and a Laroche utility trailer?
The folding trailer stores in less space, but it carries less and has to be unfolded before every trip. The Laroche 4 × 8 ft is fixed and galvanized, on a 3,500 lb axle and 14 in wheels, with a rear ramp and a triple tongue: it is ready to go.
Which trailer should I choose to dump soil or gravel?
A dump trailer. The N&N Torrent HD 6 × 12 ft suits large properties and small contractors; the 7 × 12 to 7 × 16 ft Torrent suits heavier work, with a 7 to 12-ton cylinder depending on the length.
Does a 4 × 8 trailer need brakes?
In Québec, a trailer needs brakes once its loaded mass exceeds 1,300 kg or half the mass of the towing vehicle. A 4 × 8 ft loaded with light materials is usually far from that, but a load of stone or soil quickly changes the math.
Can you service my DKZ trailer?
Yes. Our workshop handles general maintenance, repairs and equipment installation on trailers of any make. Call us with the make, year and the work needed. Our parts counter also finds lighting, hitches, wheels and tires.
Can I finance a trailer at Martin Remorques?
Yes. We work with National Bank of Canada for bank financing and, for businesses, with Crédit-Bail CLÉ for commercial leasing. We prepare the application with you; the institution approves it and sets the rate.
